when you have something

they welcome you

invite you

into their homes

offer a tour of their homes.

and they offer up the good wine so you can endure

never ending conversation

that has no hope of a spiral.

and they talk of their other homes

in far off places

also.

you can’t afford the shoes needed

to walk

life jacket

to swim

to these far-off distant places.
