we got tattoos

saying siempre

in black

across our hearts.

stain sheets with a stranger

use good a lover’s trust

chase the one that came and went away

if you can,

let them chase you once in a long while.

if you can,

do it all with a deep sense of entitlement

do it with togetherness

only with them in mind.

and when needle pierces skin

ask yourself

is this us?
