daily routine of a writer

My creative writing routine begins with an empty mind.

Blankness allows me to go the page full of curiosity, possibility.
 
Because my head hasn’t been consumed by thoughts, I didn’t ask for in the first place:
 
Pay a bill, reply to a message, write a list—all of this distraction from the work.
