There was another time

a before grown time

when all that mattered

for a boy

was his main man.

Backrub when things got too much

over nothing much, really.

But letting them know

everything will be okay, mattered

more than anything.

No matter if tears led to exhaustion

plenty enough blood

was given. There was a time

when I was afraid of this world.
