portrait skin
chub face devotees
look like porcelain.
in ghost room
heads bow
faith submission.
there are skylines
some grey
others blue
defy mercy.
poses consumed
piecemeal malnutrition.
the poverty
the bankruptcy
the deathless light
goes on
in those
who only knew
how to pursue
pain expression.
Rembrandt’s face appears absent
of smile.
