walls close in

a daybreak

brings on

a nightfall

*

of hope wishes

tossed down a well.

static time

shrinks idle thoughts,

lost in darkness.

and time

sometimes finite

and eternal

*

bloats the gut

swells the mind

*

with too much

or little enough

time.

you are presence

still, as though

a monument.

know

and do not

know

how and when

time will expire.
