a funny feeling

comes over a man

somewhere between the gut turn

of wine hangover

and a bone ache

that precedes another night shift.

this unsettled feeling

arrives as a train departs—

on time packed with irony.

sky fills up with rain clouds.

you watch the one you know

roll and bend

with the earth.
