Poem of today
Ginsburg reacting to the America of McCarthy. I was taken aback by Howl initially but wow is he powerful. A great American poet.
Greatest Ginsberg collaboration ever - with The Clash in 1982

Greatest Unrealized Ginsberg Government:
"Vachel Lindsay Secretary of the Interior
Poe Secretary of Imagination
Pound Secty. Economics
and Kra belongs to Kra, and Pukti to Pukti
crossfertilization of Blok and Artaud
Van Gogh's Ear on the currency
no more propaganda for monsters
and poets should stay out of politics or become monsters
I have become monsterous with politics"
Not sure about Ezra Pound as Secretary of Economics but the rest seems like a good lineup.
Ezra morphed into a devotee of Hitler, so your instincts to reject him make all the sense.
Yes, you are America...but who says you have to follow all things?
Same year he wrote "Howl", same profound disgust, same as we are all feeling.
America deserves this poem today. Thank you for sharing it.
A million Trotskyites in 1956?! Now, THAT would have been interesting!
